There's plenty to see and do at the estuary.
The estuary walkway provides beautiful views, and there are signs along the way providing information about some of the birds you might see.
There is a lot of interesting wildlife at the estuary. As well as birds, the estuary is also home to some interesting plants and is an important habitat for native fish.

Many species of wildlife are easily observed but there are many more that not so easy to spot and this is where eDNA (environmental Deoxyribonucleic acid) plays an important part of understanding other lifeforms in the environment. It is the molecule that contains the genetic code of living beings Wikipedia.
Over time more details will be included but in the meantime, below is a map of the seven local sites where eDNA analysis has been done, including Whitebait Creek where an important restoration project is in the early stages.
